Integration

DEFINITION: integration for us is what is required when someone decides to go to a foreign country and they don’t know people, their culture and their way of living. We try to integrate to fit in with other people and the new society.
Language are also important because if we go to another country and we don’t know the languages spoken we will find difficulties.

SWEDEN

The government does much for immigrants for example help with money, work, and a place to live. Many people are against immigration because of the medias exaggeration of problems.
Some immigrants don’t respect our laws and they make a mess in the society and that makes us consider them bad.

The first problem that the immigrants find in our country is the language. Some people discriminate against people that have dark skin and people from other countries
We think that integration is how you help immigrants to fit in their new societyWe think that it is important that we learn more about other cultures and we can understand each other better. If we all respect each other, this leads to better understanding and less conflict.

We think that we should treat immigrants just like all the other Swedish people. But when it comes to work and things like that some of us have the opinion that the Swedish people should go first because it’s difficult to find a job. It’s important that the immigrants respect and follow our rules and laws.

We think that our generation does not get enough information from the school about multiculturalism and integration. We think that both we and our future generations should, because understanding helps to build relationships and to solve conflicts.

Women’s conditions, religion, job opportunities…

In our country there are many Italians schools for immigrants and they are free.
We think that it is important that we learn more about other cultures and we can understand each other better. If we all respect each other, this leads to better understanding and less conflict.

We think that for a good integration it is important to know the languages and to respect the other cultures: religion, the rights of the person and the laws.In Italy the information and preparation to multiculturalism at school is not enough but we think that if we have more information it could be better.
