The opinionists: BULLIES FIND AUDIENCE

The bullies at “Parini” in Milan have become the protagonists of a book.
The renowned high school in Milan turned into a nest of violence operated by students: in fact in October 2004 a group of students flooded the toilets of the school to avoid a Greek test.
The damage accounted for € 300.000.
The story is presented in a book written by a former student.
The book will be distributed in November.
Our opinion is that parents must give their children good education and teach them to respect the rules of civil coexistence.
But sometimes they don’t do enough or in some other cases, instead, the power of the group of fellow mates is much stronger than the good principles taught at home.
Bad students do this kind of actions only to show off and get a reputation among their fellow mates.
In fact they are always in groups when doing something against the law, looking for recognition in front of others.
We think that the writer has had an original idea. This is positive because the book highlights the problem inside the school, but is also negative because the youngsters may emulate the students of “Parini”.
Students and teachers must take care of the school, where we spend several hours a day: the school building, our classroom, become our second home and we are entrusted it so that we can make good use of it.
However the problem is to find the right way to punish guilty subjects so as to prevent these situation in the future. Surely it can be only effective if punishment affects students lives directly, for examples in the case of social work requiring time and effort on the side of the students.
What is your opinion about that?
